"WATERCOLOUR LANDSCAPE TECHNIQUES" Wednesday 25 October 2017, 10am to 1pm, £30
"WATERCOLOUR LANDSCAPE" Wednesday 25th October 2017, 2pm to 5pm, £30
During the morning course we will be looking at (and practising) Watercolour techniques specifically for landscapes. Starting with how to sketch and layout a landscape with good composition, then moving on to painting techniques. We will look at skies, including sunsets and clouds of different types, water in the landscape, trees, structures and foregrounds. Several useful mixed media techniques will be demonstrated enabling you to approach your watercolour landscapes with new confidence. Perspective and colour mixing will also be discussed, as well as how to avoid muddy colours and how to work in a limited palette – without limiting your colour choice. Students may also book the afternoon session and put what they have learned into practise if they wish.
The afternoon course is a chance to practice your watercolour landscape painting with help and instruction tailored to your own needs and painting style. Those who attended the morning course will be able to put into practice the techniques they learned earlier in the day. But attending the earlier course is not a necessity, you may just come along and paint. We will be working from supplied photographs, but feel free to bring your own if there is a particular scene you want to work on with guidance.
