“I love the excitement of making strong marks. I use a range of materials to create an effect – a sweep of charcoal, a lavish brush full of paint, a feather, stones or sticks – anything I have collected which will impart energy in my painting”.
Strong form, structure, colour and texture are the elements to Wendy’s paintings. Using Oils, Acrylics, watercolours, charcoal and found objects for mark making as well as brushes and palate knives, Wendy works with a range of tools and mediums to create her loose vibrant abstracts. Inspiration is derived from her surroundings mostly the Seascapes and Landscapes of East Anglia.
After studying Art and Drama at Colchester Institute, Wendy worked in the Theatre as a Scenic Artist. The experience of painting on a large scale still influences Wendy’s art.
